Membership in LRC is open to all cyclists. While anyone is welcome to ride with the club without being a member, a cyclist must be a member to receive special club discounts from sponsors like Reed Cycles, Big City Coffee and Café, DeFeet, Rudy Project and on race entry fees, or to participate in the club's list serve discussions.
Our main membership drive is in the late fall / early winter, when the team has an annual get together and gear fitting party at Reed Cycle. Club members are not required to buy or wear LRC gear to ride with the club. The club does maintain an online store with Pactimo for members to order LRC gear.
Reed Cycles also offers a club purchase night with special discounts to club members at the membership/gear fitting party and during riding gear pickup. The main membership drive ends when the initial gear order is finalized, the store is closed and production of the next year's riding apparel commences.
Cyclists may join the club at any time during the year for $35. If you join and buy LRC custom apparel, the membership fee is only $15.
The club's organized group rides regularly see groups of 15 to 35 riders with a wide range of ability. In addition to the rides, other club events include the LRC hospitality tent at the Twilight Criterium; the spring club picnic; and a fall club picnic in conjunction with the Idaho State Championship Criterium. LRC has also sponsored multi-day cycling tours for club members. LRC also joins with other clubs for group rides and also has "excursion" rides that tour areas outside of the Treasure Valley. Many club members join together for some of the local organized century and charity rides as well as travel across the country for a variety of rides.
The club maintains a members-only list serve that allows riders to get together on an informal basis and to share information on various cycling events. Many club members participate in cycling advocacy, are commuters and a number enjoy competitive cycling.
